The challenge

FCC restrictions threatened SMS and email marketing for controlled substances — the channels Springbig's customers depended on. The company needed a push notification strategy, and needed it quickly.

Building a mobile app per customer was theoretically possible and practically a bottleneck. One app at a time does not scale to a customer base.

What we did

We built a white-label mobile platform: one shared core carrying the functionality, with branded shells generated per customer.

The architecture moved the cost of a new customer app from an engineering project to a configuration step.

The outcome

  • Roughly 100 branded apps were deployed from the single codebase.
  • A regulatory threat to the existing business became a scalable product line.
